PAINTING


Inspired by the Mexican Votive paintings (Ex-Votos).
(Ex-Voto definition: A small painting that is created in gratitude to the Saints for prayers answered. They depict a moment or time when an individual is delivered from disaster or death. The paintings are normally created on tin tiles from mexican rooftops, as many families could not afford canvas.)

The paintings I create are painted on found items that I have discovered whilst walking. The paintings react directly to the object and the site they were found.
